05 Parade of the Gray Butcher

The adventurers first found themselves at the mercy of the Gray Butcher, a formidable figure who compelled them to march in a parade before granting them passage. Once released, their investigation led them to the Sanmi family estate. In the garden, they liberated the Sanmi family from a locked shed and proceeded to the main residence. There, they encountered a group of six Jenkins alongside the young Yuli Sanmi and her lover, Hu Lelong.

Through clever negotiation, the party persuaded the Jenkins to vacate the premises. However, a different kind of conflict arose when they discovered Yuli and Hu intended to elope. The party intervened, sending Yuli back to the safety of her family and causing a furious Hu Lelong to depart in a rage.

Seeking more information, the group entered the nearby bathhouse, where they rescued a terrified De-ge Hua from a storage locker. With his final breath before losing consciousness, De-ge revealed that Kappa had taken over the outdoor pools. Rather than resort to violence, the party offered the Kappa fresh cucumbers harvested from the garden. The Kappa confessed that while they had been recruited for the looming town attack, they found the violent atmosphere “depressing” and contrary to their nature. Satisfied with the snack and the conversation, the Kappa abandoned their post and left the area.
